Every Massage commences with a 15 minute Consultation which is factored into the cost and time of the treatment unless you chose the massage as an add on to another treatment such as a facial, body scrub/wrap, hair or foot treatment. All massage treatments use the highest quality of Massage Oils including Certified Organic oils. Anahata Therapies uses Nativa Organic Towels, Linen & Spa Wraps from India dyed with Organic Ayurvedic herbs under the guidance and prescription of Ayurvedic Doctors.
It is strongly recommended that a complimentary 10-30 minute relaxation and nurture be followed after a Massage.
Other therapies and treatments available from the Menu can be added onto these massages to complement your treatment experience. Add a Mini facial, a Body Scrub and or Bioptron Light Therapy to enhance your experience and therapeutic effect.

Take some well-deserved time to nurture yourself and your baby and celebrate the wonderful changes in your body. Pregnancy massage can safely, comfortably and effectively relieve the physical stress of pregnancy, stimulating circulation and reducing postural discomfort and back pain, or may simply be a period of stillness and relaxation during this special time in your life and connecting in with your baby.
There is a choice of Pregnancy Massage oils for your unique treatment - there is the OmVeda Prasuya Natal Care Oil, Subtle Energies Ayurvedic Aromatherapy Pregnancy Range Oils or a personalised Anahata Blend. Essential Oil Blends will lubricate and feed the skin and also help with the elasticity of the tissues and so help prevent stretch marks and improve circulation. The blend created at Anahata should be used at home every day in conjunction with the treatment, on breasts, abdomen, thighs, buttocks etc. We recommend a Pregnancy Massage treatment at least once a month in the early stages of pregnancy and more often as the pregnancy develops.
Research is proving that prenatal massage therapy can be very effective instrumental ingredient in women’s prenatal care. Benefits of Pregnancy Massage during pregnancy include reduced stress, promote much needed rest and relaxation, facilitate transitions through emotional support and physical nurturing, reduce oedema and blood pressure, relieve varicose veins, reduce muscle spasms and leg cramps, increase blood and lymph circulation resulting in more energy and less fatigue, facilitate hormonal, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, and other physiological processes during pregnancy, stabilize hormonal levels making the side effects of pregnancy less severe, reduce musculoskeletal strain and pain, contribute to developing flexibility and the kinaesthetic awareness necessary to actively participate in the birth process, help prepare for an easier delivery, foster nurturing maternal touch, enhance postnatal recovery of muscle tissues and structural realignment of the spine and pelvis.

Some of the techniques employed in Aromatherapy Massage include acupressure points, soft tissue manipulation, Lymphatic Drainage, Energy balance/polarity therapy, reflexology, and working on the Central Nervous System, the Autonomic and Muscular Systems. LDT is a gentle manual treatment which improves the activity of lymph vessels by mild mechanical stretches on the wall of the lymph collectors. LDT re-routes the lymph flow around blocked areas into more centrally located lymph vessels or gently clears congestion of the lymph vessels and nodes that eventually drain into the venous system. Pressure is light and contact is superficial as contact is with the skin and not the muscle.
Some of the benefits of LDT include reduced lymphoedemas, reduction in pain, induced restful sleep, increased relaxation, reduction of high blood pressure, stimulation of the immune system, increased bowels and bladder movements, regulation of menstruation due to possible hormonal balance, reduction of acne due to de-tox, decrease in pain for conditions involving joint inflammation such as MS and arthritis, assists recovery after colds, flu, bronchitis and asthma, improves sinus conditions.
Some of the indications for LDT include stimulation of the lymphatic system, Lymphoedemas – primary & secondary, Oedema during pregnancy, fluid retention, scar tissue, post surgical (Mastectomy or cosmetic), after glandular fever, sports injuries, some neurological disorders such as MS, migraine, headaches and trigeminal neuralgia, arthritis & rheumatism, constipation & digestive disorders, sinusitis & hay fever, Hormonal imbalances (teenagers, menstrual conditions, menopause), recurring infections such as colds, flu, ear or chest, for general health and wellbeing, and Lipoedema.
LDT is the perfect accompaniment to a Detoxification treatment as it allows the release and elimination of toxins from the lymph vessels and out of the body through the bladder.
LDT of the face (30 min) is also an excellent treatment for sinus congestion, hayfever and headaches combined with ear candling.
LDT is available as a 30min Add on Treatment.
Add Bioptron Light Therapy increasing the activity of the lymphatic system and thereby making the treatment more effective.

Is regarded as a paramedical massage treatment to assist in healing parts of the body which have been injured or immobile due to age, illness, trauma, posture, over use, stress, injury, or lack of exercise. Remedial massage techniques are applied slower and generally with more pressure than Swedish Massage. The therapist targets deeper muscle groups after first warming the soft tissues. Remedial massage provides a healing treatment that can be gentle or strong, deep or superficial. Remedial Massage holistically treats the whole body and traces the discomfort as far as possible back to the original cause, healing both the cause of the disorder as well as the symptoms. Its objectives are to restore structural balance in the muscle groups throughout the body, and decompress arthritic or painful joints. It is an extremely beneficial form of massage with therapeutic benefits.
Remedial Massage is also available as a 30min Add on Treatment.

Infant Massage is an "age old" tradition....since the beginning of time. Traditionally it has been passed down from gerneration to generation, from mother to daughter. In the words of Vimala McClure, the founder of IAIM (Internation Association of Infant Massage), "The Origins of Infant Massage arise from a mother's desire to nurture her child with all her senses".
Come and learn the art of massaging your infant either one on one privately or in a class situation. The IAIM program runs for 5 weeks with attendance once a week for one hour. The instructor demonstrates the strokes on a doll as infant massage is fundamentally developing communication between the infant and his/her caregivers. We encourage both parents or grandparents to attend so that everyone learns to bond with the infant. The cost of the course includes the attendance of the infant, its caregiver and other family members who wish to learn, the massage oil and instructional notes.
Price includes you, your baby and another (your partner or Grandparent).

Based on Western medicine and science. Swedish Massage began about 150 years ago. Taken from Chinese Massage by the French and systemized by Per Henrik Ling of Sweden (1776- 1839) which gave it the term “Swedish massage”. The main aim of Swedish Massage is general and overall relaxation for general wellbeing using soft pressure. The technique employs a gentle but firm manipulation applied to the soft tissues of the body. Most commonly used oils are Organic Sweet Almond or Organic Jojoba oil. Recommended for general wellbeing.
